SDS - Classification and Labeling

ENSURE THE RIGHT COMMUNICATION OF INFORMATION ON CHEMICALS

SGS has years of experience in the design and elaboration of Safety Data Sheet (SDS) in all European languages and in the classification and labeling of substances and preparations.

Chemical safety data sheets (SDS) have become the main tool of communication throughout the entire supply chain since the introduction of REACH (Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemical substances Regulation 1907/2006/EC) and the new GHS classification system, which has been adopted by the European Commission under the Classification, Labeling and Packaging Regulation 1272/2008/EC (CLP).

Updates and revisions of safety data sheets is inevitable for many businesses. Not only the content, but also the management of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) needs to fully comply with European legislation if producers, importers and formulators want to continue successfully commercializing their products in Europe.
